King's Gambit

I'm experimenting with new openings, The King's Gambit as white and the Caro-Khan as black (with a four game bout of the Latvian Gambit, which I did not like at all).
The King's Gambit is quite fun and I may start playing it in my regular games.
The Caro-Khan is fun to and I'm not sure why no one likes it, it seems reasonable to me. Is it supposed to be boring or something?
I will play them both in blitz games and at chessworld.net and see next month how I like them.

In other news, I'm in another teamchess team, the U1600 team. My U1800 team is in a different section than the DeLaMaza team, but my U1600 team is not, so it should be fun.

You've got quite a disparity in opening style there. The King's Gambit can get really crazy (I've experimented with it before, too), but Spassky used to play it quite a bit, and it's sound as far as I know.

The C-K is considered "drawish," but I've considered exploring it myself as an alternative to my usual Scandinavian. One thing that has held me back is the Advance variation (which I play against the C-K as White). That variation seems to give Black fits, and I've beaten a 1700 rated player and nearly beat an 1800 rated player who used that opening against me. So, if you do explore the C-K, I'd suggest finding some good ideas for Black against the Advance variation as one of your first priorities.

I thought I read something about the C-K being drawish. I will look into the advance variation.
So far I like both openings, but I haven't played them enough to really know for sure.
Thanks a lot for your input!
